Who We Are
Chi Alpha was established in 2011 by a small group of students that wanted to see God move on the campus through a community of students. The story since then has been a beautiful one, and we know it's only the beginning.
Chi Alpha is derived from the greek words "Christou apostoloi" which means "Christ’s ambassador." We each are Christ's ambassador and carry Him within us to bring Him closer to the people.
2 Corinthians 5:20
Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God.
Vision
Our desire is to see students encounter the reality of relationship with God. We believe that when students come to know the love of God through Jesus and His power, it changes everything. We believe that every student at ISU deserves an encounter with Jesus Christ.
We believe that when students know Jesus personally and are empowered by the Holy Spirit, they can change the campus. We see our campus changing as students devote themselves to know God personally and to one another in community.
1 Thessalonians 1 communicates our vision perfectly. Paul says:
"our gospel came to you not only in word, but also in power and in the Holy Spirit . . . And you became imitator of us and of the Lord . . . your faith in God has gone forth everywhere."
