Our Story

Chi Alpha was established in 2011 by a small group of students that wanted to see God move on the campus through a community of students empowered by the Holy Spirit. The story since then has been a beautiful one as we have seen many encounter Jesus and grow in the context of community.
Our name, Chi Alpha, is derived from the greek words "Christou apostoloi" which means "Christ’s ambassador." We each are an ambassador for Christ and we get to represent Christ to a world that is in desperate need of a relationship with Him.
John 17:3 "Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent."
Our Vision
Our desire is to see students encounter the reality of relationship with God and experience a genuine expression of Christ-centered community. When we come to know the love of God through Jesus and experience the power of His Presence together, it changes everything.

Alex & Katie Rosinger
Campus Directors
Alex & Katie Rosinger are both Alumni of Iowa State University and ISU Chi Alpha. Their hearts and lives were completely transformed through encountering Jesus during their years as ISU students, returning to lead in 2020.
Alex and Katie are hungry to see God move radically in the hearts of ISU students and to see the university transformed by the Good News of Jesus.
They enjoy spending time with their 4 boys, Crossfit, and board games.
Alejandra Singh
Full-Time Staff
Alejandra is an Iowa State University and Iowa State Chi Alpha Alumni. She has been serving on staff since 2022. Alejandra has a heart for the campus and wants every student to experience the transforming power of the Gospel and step into the fullness of life in Christ.
Alejandra loves spending time with her husband Abhi, doing photography, Crossfit, and drinking lattes.
Emory Hamann
Full-Time Staff
Emory has been a part of Chi Alpha for the past three years and is excited to serve others at ISU. He believes that Jesus wants every student to encounter His presence, whether you're on or off campus.
For his free time, he enjoys listening to just about anything and going on hikes in any accessible woodland.
Natalee Thompson
Full-Time Staff
Natalee was a part of Iowa State’s Chi Alpha for 2 years as a student and it changed her life. And after a year in the marketplace, she felt the Lord calling her back to Ames. She’s passionate about introducing students to their Creator who loves them and has an identity and purpose for them! She loves Chi Alpha's intentionality towards seeking and sharing God's heart in everyday life.
You can normally find her sketching or rock climbing.
Helene Williams
Give-A-Year Intern
Helene is an alumni of Iowa State University and ISU Chi Alpha. She first connected with ISU Chi Alpha her freshman year of college and her life was completely transformed by the Holy Spirit. Her desire is for every student at Iowa State to experience the freedom and joy found in knowing Jesus and to find their true worth in Him alone. She wants them to know that their journey at Iowa State can be about more than their degree.
Helene enjoys spending time with her husband, Tristen, making (and drinking) coffee, and hiking.
Lachlan & Maggie Kelley
Volunteer Staff

Lachlan & Maggie Kelley are both Iowa State University and ISU Chi Alpha alumni. They have been serving as volunteer staff since 2022.
Lachlan & Maggie enjoy Chi Alpha because it's a place where students can discover and grow their relationship with God, as well as grow in community with other students.
Lachlan enjoys woodworking in his spare time and Maggie can be found thrifting.
